A set of letter writing paper and envelopes with artwork by Higashi printed on soft Shinkyokushi paper. Lumière, meaning ‘light’ in French, was inspired by Junichiro Tanizaki’s essay In Praise of Shadows. The envelope fits up to L/3R size photographs (89 x 127mm), so you can enclose cherished memories along with your words.
Higashi creates her works surrounded by nature at her home and atelier located at the foot of the Yatsugatake Mountains at an altitude of 1180m.
